Cozumel
| Cozumel is a medium size Island compared to a number of Caribbean Islands, but it has a huge heart. It's about as close to "paradise" as I've been to. The people are down to earth, friendly and resilient, the weather is gorgeous, the food delicious, and the diving is spectacular! Within this island there is the distinct flavor of Mexican/Mayan culture with an almost Caribbean twist. Kind of like a cola with a lime - it goes well together. The are numerous beachfront parks for the sun-worshippers, lot's of shopping, wonderful diving, and even Mayan ruins which can be visited. Best of all there are numerous choices available to you regarding accommodation. You can have an all-inclusive resort, a private Casa, or a very reasonably priced hotel room right in San Miguel. If it sounds like I am marketing Cozumel -- well perhaps I am. It's one of my favorite spots. |
