A wedding is probably the most personal event that you will ever have photographed and therefore your selection of a photographer to capture the event with you is particularly important. To offer a complete record of a wedding requires classic poses of the bride, groom and wedding party on one end of the photographic spectrum and intimate photojournalism at the other. A wedding is as much about the details as it is the guests. You will have discussed, debated, agonized over, and finally decided upon each detail as the wedding has been planned and you'll want reminders of these in your wedding photos. To ensure success at the conclusion of the event my approach is to work through each of these details with you, understanding there will not be a second chance. My workflow covers items such as general event flow, the location, formal and informal desires, the essential wedding portraits, special wedding moments, and your individual requests unique to you and your wedding and guests. I have documented my workflow so you know exactly what to expect and can make a well informed decision concerning who will document your special day. A key ingredient to a beautiful portrait is relaxation. Being comfortable allows for your natural self to be reflected in the photograph. To achieve that I utilize a mobile portrait studio allowing me to come to your location and produce results as if you had gone to a studio. The background can be standard muslin backdrops or you may want your fireplace or other favorite room. The choice is yours. Indoors or outdoors, flexibility and comfort combine to produce fantastic results for your moment. Whether it be capturing a Formal portrait, such as proms, graduations or other events of recognition, or a relaxed family portrait, I will deliver excellent results in the setting of your choice and convenience.
More often than not event photography is a photojournalistic activity. Rather than being conducted in a controlled setting, such as a studio, event photography is generally undertaken in a dynamic setting such as a soccer field, baseball diamond, backyard, a rented indoor facility, or even underwater. The subjects are generally moving and not at all posing for a photograph. Event photography is about capturing the "moment in time" under less than ideal circumstances, creating a record of those life moments as they become treasured permanent memories. It's these challenges that make event photography such a rewarding photo-opportunity and more importantly - result.
The preservation of our families memories captured in photography is greatly enabled in today's digital technology. Through digital scanning and digital darkrooms excellent results are obtained in restoring old and recapturing new photographs. These images can be reprinted or digitally written to CD's or DVD's. DVD slideshows with accompanying music can tell the life story of an individual or family. The goal of this service is to capture those memories before they are lost to father time and to create an enhanced memory that can easily be shared.
